Author John Wright reading Friday at the ‘Downtown Bookstore’ Ontario, Canada

The Downtown Bookstore, Ontario, CanadaRobbery, The Sun Times, gun fire and a thrilling ride through history from The Silk Road to the royal court of William The Conquerer.

These are some of the themes author John Wright will touch at a reading and signing of his second novel Knight Harolde at the Downtown Bookstore Friday night.

It’s the second novel in Wright’s 1066 series, about that Medieval time in England, which the writer said is important today because Canada’s roots in democracy date from that time. Wright said that’s among topics he’ll cover Friday night.

Knight Harolde, released this fall, follows Wright’s first novel The Healer, which he published last year.

“I love the ancients, and this exciting time in history,” the former Sun Times news reporter and columnist said.

The reading and book signing event starts at 7 p.m. at The Downtown Bookstore and runs until 8:30. For more information, contact the store at 519-372-9760.
