Step back in time with annual civic day and medieval fair in St Catherine’s Chapel, Southport Road, LydiateThis weekend sees the annual civic day and medieval fair in Lydiate.

Organisers have decided to extend the outdoor event to a weekend of fun with a medieval-style market full of stalls and attractions.

Entry to both days is free and will be held at St Catherine’s Chapel, Southport Road, on Saturday, 18September from 12noon until 4.30pm, and Sunday, 19 September from 1pm to 4pm.

There will be lots of sideshows including ferret walking, face painting, scouts barbecue and refreshments. Plus stalls galore including cakes, bread, vegetables, fruit, cheese, pet portraits, glass designs, cards and craft.

Lydiate Parish Council extended it to two days to mark the official opening of the Lydiate Village Centre on Lambshear Lane. Free parking is available on both days at the rear of the Scotch Piper.
