Medieval mayhem on the bill at Scarborough castle

Visitors to Scarborough Castle this weekend will be transported back to a bygone age.
The historic venue will host a Medieval Joust event, organised by English Heritage, from 11am to 5pm today and tomorrow.

People will get to enjoy the thrills and spills of medieval jousting and can cheer on their favourite knight.

Entertainment will also be provided by a jester and medieval musicians.

A spokesman for English Heritage said: “Complete with living history, townsfolk and soldiers, fully armoured Knights and the pomp and pageantry of a medieval joust, this event is a great family day out.

“Plus, there is a full programme of children’s interactive activities with the Time Travellers.”
